Michael Gardner II has been studying music since the
age of 8, playing and performing in numerous bands and orchestras
in Detroit and throughout Michigan. He has won numerous awards,
and in the process has gained valuable knowledge in the art of
music composition. However, it wasn't until the 11th grade, when
he heard the debut album of Timbaland and Magoo, that he decided
to try his hand at producing music for Rap and Rhythm and Blues.
While attending Eastern Michigan University he worked at Guitar
Center, where he gained a hands-on experience with professional
grade music equipment. He also gained knowledge and techniques
from his fellow co-workers and customers. While he was honing
his skills, he met Jacob Randolph (Dashis
Blay) through a mutual friend. They immediately began
working on a demo project along with roommate Anthony Brown and
high school friend Burrell Pitts.
Together, they put out an EP entitled "The End of The
Beginning" for Dashis Blay, along with a couple of singles
for Anthony Brown (Ant B.). Michael
also produced songs for up and coming artist Problem Child on
Empire Entertainment. During the summer of 2003 Mike went on tour,
performing all throughout New Mexico. Afterwards, Mike met Vince
Gant (Vision) while working at
Guitar Center. It took a couple of meetings for them to decide
to form a partnership, producing music for local, new and established
talent in the music industry.
Mike's drive and commitment to "excellence or nothing at all" is his key to success. His musical tastes range from classical to hip-hop, which allows him to cater to any musical style or genre in his production. He cites producer Timbaland and composer John Williams as chief influences.
